The Shadow of the Star Dancer Jump26 viewsWhen the Star dancer enter the stage he used to do so by a big jump from the dark to the spot of maximal light.

Dancer Ilfat41 viewsThis spanish Dancing woman is turning and showing her upskirt. Probably discovering beautiful legs ! During the phase of multiple painting restauration I decided to put a black colour around several paintings
This colour was able to move to the border of the painting giving a better effect as I have also discussed in another painting. Therefore a new photograph has to be taken and displayed on the site.

Dancer I37 viewsThe original, painted in 1965 was not satisfactory and was repainted to increase the feeling of rotation during dance.
This new photograph also includes a black edge around the support of conglomarated wood increasing the presentation of the painting.
This painting was later copied and modified to give birth to the Oriental Dancer in 2006.
Stored in a psychiatric surgery in Paris. As there is (as usual) no signature on this painting, any new consultant entering the room returns the painting to look for the name of the painter !
I was said that it was non exception after three years of display !

Jump of the Star Dancer28 viewsThis was the original drawing that I made in the beginning of year 2005. Here we can see the calligraphy in black lines superimposed on the Charcoal drawing. It indicates the way the artist is sometimes proceeding in his most elaborated elaborated work going from a sketch on a piece of paper, its reproduction in charcoal on the support, the Callygraphy. In this example the background was not considered as important !

Oriental Dancer60 viewsIt is a tradition from the middle east to invite a young female dancer at the end of a good meal with friends.
Sometimes the dancer has to keep a sword on her head during the dance.
The point of major interest is to see the extremely suggestive "belly dancing".
This is the final version of the Oriental Dancer.

Star dancer on stage24 viewsThis painting represents the complete drawing of the "Star dancer" himself which has been completed after the different versions of his shadow.

24 viewsThis painting was the first stage of the other "finished" painting where the background is supposed to represents the audiance
This painting is flat as opposed to the other represented in almost three dimensions because of the thickness of the backgroud

Ready for the Ballroom32 viewsThis young girl is ready to go for the first time to the Ballroom where she can possibly meet the beautifull officier or the smart gentleman or simply the rich who will invite her to dance more than one time... This Early XIXth Century story might be th start of a more complex affair. Nevertheless, we are here at just the begining of potentially critical point in the life of this young woman... You agree ?

27 viewsThis is the final version of the small "star dancer" finished in 2006
The background has been reworked in extremely thick layer of pigments which may suggest the audiance in the theater as opposed to the naked version which might be recorded during the rehearsing with no public
Written on the back "2005 CF N°141"

Dancer (Copy after Degas)80 viewsThis beautiful painting shows a young dancer on the tip of her toes.
The interesting aspect is the perfect balance of the dancer.

Boogie-Woogie50 viewsThis is the painting of a Couple dancing Boogie-Woogie
It was the time of Sydney Bechet and his saxophone playing "Petite fleur" during what we called in France a "Surprise Partie"
Very limited restauration was recently performed.

Dying Bird37 viewsA bird strucked by bullets is dying thinking of his best time when he was in love of a beautifull partner.
This painting is noticable by the perfect balance of the bird which suggests a ballet dancer on the tip of one of her toes.
The pink small bird on top will give rise to the series of birds painted in 2005.

Lido dancer35 viewsThe Lido is the name of a famous night club located on the Champs Elysées which is
the most beautiful Avenue in Paris going from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde.
I have been invited several times in the Lido and was impressed by the beauty of the dancers.
The dancers are highly magnified by unbelivable dressing of many kinds. The background will be improved after remastering several times the painting in 2006.
This is not the final...

Lido Dancer46 viewsThis painting representing a Lido Dancer, it was never finished. Multiple painting sessions were necessary to progressively increase the strength of the background which express the audiance.
