Another version of the Boeing take off32 viewsThis is a new version of the Boeing take off obtained with the videoprojection of an image stored on a disquette and entered in a laptop.
A charcoal drowing is made on the image projected by the videoprojector. It is more complicated than a simple gicli even if it is reworked by the painter. Sme irregularities in the background have been suppressed.

bird53 viewsThe beginning of this painting is very strange
After opening a old box I found a crest of dry material on a soft medium used for glass window repair
I put that crest on a plaque of MDF before to through it away. Then I realised that this can be a very difficult for a painting. Just before it was completely dry I forced the drawing of the bird which immediately suggested a ceramic. Visiting the Getty museum in Los Angeles I discovered the "Walking flower" which triggered the idea of building a model in ceramics from the image of the painting.

Bird Take Off51 viewsThis is the most appreciated version of the Bird Take off
which was particularly praized when it was displayed at the Joel Garcia "Art comtemporain" exhibition in Paris 2005
I like the position of legs which suggest the beginning of closure of the landing gear just after plane take off...
Interesting mixture of art and technology !

Bird Take off38 viewsAn other expression of the Bird take off
This one has never been presented in any exhibition
The expression of "take off" is the same as in the previous painting

Ceramic Bird50 viewsThe Ceramic Bird has been remasterised by adding oil colors on the ceramic to get the proper look.
Finally, I was satisfied by the result. I was able to obtained what I was looking for !
More descriptions have been reported in the "News".

Ceramic Bird37 viewsHere the bird in clay is presented after the first burn. The light colors are ceramic pigments. The real color will be revealed after the second burn.
On the right the original painting. In the back the reversed bird obtained by computer processing to facilitate the position of colors on the other side of the bird.

Flower or Aquatic Bird64 viewsAt the beginning this painting started as the calligraphy of a Flower. However, the curves which are closer to the lower part became interestingly inducing other curved lines which finally suggested a bird in water such as a kind of duck. This impression was increased by adding the evocation of a piece of water around the aquatic bird. Therefore, the result is in between these two concepts. You have to choose which one you prefer or you can like both or none of them...

Bird on Brown background64 viewsThe original graph had no significance. Then, looking at it I found that turning the picture upside down gave the impression of a new bird structure. It was necessary to include some additional modifications to follow this idea and finally to add the background with a simple whitish brush strokes.

C or C ?55 viewsDerived from the "Sarkozian Bird". The pink graph of the Sarkozian Bird was an obvious sign of a feminine symbol. I took a numeric picture of this graph and processed the image to have it straight and enlarged. Then, there was a problem ! The centering of the graph was too high on the background ! After a long period of reflection I found the solution which was to add the lower black glass table. Then, it started interesting to represent the reflection of this 3 dimensional graph on the table...

The Quail39 viewsStyle very close to Maternity N°22
This painting also needed strong restauration in 2006 because it was stored in a bad environement.
Written on the back "1962 CF N°16"

Pigeon39 viewsThis bird can be a pigeon.
This is my second Bird painting
Written on the back "1962 CF N°17"

Dying Bird37 viewsA bird strucked by bullets is dying thinking of his best time when he was in love of a beautifull partner.
This painting is noticable by the perfect balance of the bird which suggests a ballet dancer on the tip of one of her toes.
The pink small bird on top will give rise to the series of birds painted in 2005.

Nuptial Parade45 viewsThis is the ballet of two birds who are in love before the female will accept the male to fond a family.
The two figures of young women who are wearing mousseline dresses are suggesting the idealistic character of this parade...

Sarkozian Bird (final)89 views Sarkozian Bird (final)
As described in the news this new modified version is concentrating on the head of the bird !
In the news there is also a discussion concerning the white graph on the left of the painting !
I will probably transfer later this discussion here or in the "In Depth" Section.

Aristocrat and Bird30 viewsThis painting is now presented in the Paris studio. Some visitors prefer to see the painting in there close environement than in the regular presentation of paintings in virtual galleries. This was the "before the last" painting of the first period.
I have discovered another painting on the back "Duckling getting out of its Egg" not yet photographied
|
|

Aristocrat and Bird34 viewsAristocrat and Bird This painting was very well preserved and no restauration was necessary. It is presented in the workshop for photography only. This is obviously a tribute to the painting style of Bernard Buffet. I like the very serious attitude of this old gentlman who is tight in his education, culture, dressing as opposed to the bird which can represent freedom !
|
|

Superb Bird34 viewsThis bird is one of
the most impressive of the
series. The glacis technique
is at its best. This painting can be classified as an "Art object" !
|
|

52 viewsThis is the second Calligraphic Wire Sculpture in the shape of a bird. This is not the best photo. I think that another one is needed, taken from a different angle.
This sculpture is more elaborated, from a drawing, before to start assembling the wires.

The Sarkozian Bird50 viewsThe amazing story of this painting has been described in the "News" of this Website;
It is possible to go further in the description of this painting but not in public !
Do not see any armenian connotation in the title. This is pure English language
as Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC after the name of Smithson a chimist and mineralogist.

Ceramic Bird79 viewsThe Bird after the first burn is now "calligraphied". It is ready to receive the pigments. A part of the tail broke during manipulation probably in the oven !
