Abstract Painting134 viewsFautrier was a major artist in the interworld war and post war period.
I think that a retrospective Exhibition on Fautrier was presented in Paris may be at the Modern Art Museum during the early Sixties. I learned recently the highly difficult style of his life even when his work started to be recognised by experts. Here again the complex technique that I have used to achieve this painting made of superimpsitions of 7 layers of colours needs to be explained in more detail in "In Depth".

It was restaured in February 2007. The background was unchanged.

Tribute to jean Fautrier47 viewsI have probably attended an exhibition of Fautrier paintings or strucked by some of his paintings in a more general exhibition. The value of this particular painting is the superimposition of seven layers that can be visible on a thorough examination of the painting. you can spend a lot of time to try to go deeper and deeper. However, when I looked at it recently I was able to identified a kind of joke that I decided to include in the painting at the time of its fabrication.

I have been invited several times in the Lido and was impressed by the beauty of the dancers.
The dancers are highly magnified by unbelivable dressing of many kinds. The background will be improved after remastering several times the painting in 2006.
This is not the final...
